Kazakhstan, one of the strongest cycling nations in the world, has confirmed its participation in the FBD MILK RAS 8 Day International cycle Race which starts from the GPO on Sunday 23rd of this month. Valentine Rechert, Kazakhstan's National Team Director, has selected a powerful team drawn from the very best of the country's young development squad. The riders are Valentine Iglinskiy, Alexandr Dymovskikh, Ivan Andreev, Vadim Vdovinov and Alexandr Dvachenko.

In last years race Kazakhstan riders were in the thick of all  the major action over the eight days placing two riders in the first three on most mountainous stages from Letterkenny to Buncrana. As well as winning the King Of The Mountains Calssification Kazakhstan finished second to Sweden in the best International Team competition. The experience gained by Kazakhstan from riding the race last year will greatly benefit these young riders, a view shared by a Kazakhstan team official who commented" now that we know the very competitive nature of the FBD MILK RAS we are better prepared and so will be in the reckoning for overall honours".

Teams already confirmed, in addition to Kazakhstan, are Germany, Scandinavia, Britain, Wales Stena and the USA. Scandinavian is represented by the professional Team Bianchi Nordic while Germany interests will be well looked after by pro team ComNet Senges and Team Von Hatch from Hamburg. Britain's national under 23 team will also be very much a force over the eight days of racing.

The route features 26 major mountain climbs and includes stage finishes in Trim, Oranmore, Charleville, Cahirciveen, Millstreet, Seskin hill near Carrick-On-Suir, Tullow and the final stage in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 30th. May.

The National Dairy Council and FBD Insurances again sponsor the race.
